out of the woods

Cold mornings. Golden sunrise. Light at the end of the tunnel. Out of the woods.
Finally dusted off my camera and headed out to Barnes Common one Monday morning. It was chilly and the wind was blowing quite wildly. I started to wonder if I choose the right day for a longer dog walk and whether I should just sneak back to bed. Deni was, however, quite sprightly which was really nice to see after spending the last few months of worrying about his health. He was running around with excitement so I decided to explore the area a bit further. Then, the sun broke through the clouds and we witnessed an incredible sunrise as we walked through the woods. Camera at hand, captured some portraits of Deni in this incredible light. I must admit, he wasn't too cooperative - he seems to have lost his modelling skills or most likely, sniffing every patch carefully sat higher on his priority list. I didn't mind, after all it was his walk. After trying to pose him for a while, I decided to give in, let him be and see whether I can capture any candid moments of him. We fully embraced this Monday morning which gave an amazing start for the week.
It reminded me that after every storm comes a rainbow - it's not worth getting hang up on emotions that don't serve us. There is a silver lining in every situation - keep a positive mind and the light will follow.
